GARTENHAUS FONTENAY

Forming part of the estate between Mittelweg and the Alster, the Gartenhaus Fontenay was built in the classic timber frame style in 1820 by American merchant John Fontenay. Including his own adjacent more prestigious stone house, the estate was the first civic building development on the land of the former Harvestehude Convent.
